A commercial post is considered to be one one that aims to promote or sell a particular product or service on a 'for profit' basis (often the posters own but not always) it might be a bar or restaurant promotion, a house rental, a Todos Santos themed product or a commercial website. Please note that the only commercial posts permitted are those in the CLASSIFIEDS forum that are aimed at locals from locals - furniture/cars for sale, residential accomodation etc.
There are a few reasons for this:
The first one is that once one person posts for commercial reasons then others see it as a green light to promote their products too. If not controlled we could end up with the forum becoming little more than a classified ads section, which would detract from the overall purpose of sharing independent Todos Santos experiences and information. Plus it could drive people away.
